St. Joseph, MI has some of the best salmon and trout fishing in the country. You can fish for salmon, trout, perch and walleye on Lake Michigan and the St. Joseph River year round with seasoned charter fishing captains. You can also ask your captain to take you out for a sunset cruise on beautiful Lake Michigan.

The view of the coast line is spectacular. We have year round fishing in this area; fishing Lake Michigan April through September and the St. Joseph River October through March. Salmon, steelhead, lake trout and perch are targeted on Lake Michigan and steelhead on the St. Joseph River along with walleye at times. You just have to step aboard. Most charters include bait, tackle and fish cleaning. The coast guard and the DNR inspect both boats yearly and charter captains are licensed. Go fish!

Notre Dame College Football

The fresh, crisp air of autumn with the leaves on the trees turning red, fiery orange and golden yellow our thoughts turn to COLLEGE FOOTBALL. NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL especially.

For those that have never experienced Notre Dame Football at the Golden Dome with Touchdown Jesus overlooking the end zone, it is something that needs to be at the top of your bucket list. Notre Dame football is not only about the game, but the tailgating extravaganza with tailgaters grilling brats and burgers or hosting a more luxurious tailgate with linen tablecloths, fine china and crystal champagne glasses. This is definitely a kick off to a special day.

Once the tailgating is complete it is time to move into the stadium and hear and feel the roar of the crowd. The band and fans singing – Cheer, Cheer for Ole’ Notre Dame as the Irish kick off what is sure to be an exciting game. The excitement of the fans – young and old alike cannot be described. The Sarett Nature Center, in Michigan’s Berrien County, is unique in many ways. It is a nature preserve, an environmental education center, and a provider of natural history trips. It has five miles of trails meandering through its 800 acres. The trail system includes boardwalks, observation platforms, and an easily accessible barrier-free walkway. You can get a close-up look at wetland wildlife and habitats Including wet forests, cattail marshes, shrub cars, and a unique alkaline wetland called a fen, and you can see it all without getting your feet wet.

The primary goal of the Sarett Nature Center is to provide quality environmental education for our community and for all ages. Each year over 25,000 students ranging in age from preschoolers to through adults attend programs at Sarett. An exciting way for you to gain appreciation and knowledge of the natural world is to take part in one of Sarett’s weekend programs. These proprams include photography seminars, field trips to local natural areas, afternoon canoeing and
kayaking adventures, snowshoe-making, wildflower walks, birding trips and programs, naturalist led hikes and more.
